WELCOME
Welcome to the Colorado Springs Conservative Voice. This site is designed to provide Conservatives a means to locate Conservative Liberty Groups and Tea Parties in the Colorado Springs and surrounding areas, to identify upcoming events and to investigate issues from a conservative perspective that effect Colorado Springs, Colorado and the Nation.
Be a Community Organizer!
The Tea Party is a state of mind...small Government, less taxation, less spending., support of the Constitution, etc. Colorado Springs has numbers of organizations that support the Tea Party ideal as well as other conservative principles.
There are organizations supporting conservatism in general, as well as specific organizations that support principled causes, i.e., support for the 2nd Amendment, Pro-Life, etc. The attempt is made here to include as many organizations as possible that maintain conservative principles no matter what their areas of interest. Organizations will be added as they are identified so check back often.
The intent of this site is to enable Conservatives to find a niche so that they may become active in helping further the Conservative Cause locally, statewide and nationally. Please investigate these organizations, to identify their events, attend some of them, join the organizations of your choice and help us to fix what ails our city, state and the nation. Help us to send a conservative message to those who hold office so that we can achieve a redirection from socialism to freedom and liberty.
Don't sit on the sidelines asking what you can do. Become a Community Organizer, activist, and/or grassroots Patriot by joining one or more of these organizations!
ATTENTION - IMPORTANT ACTION NEEDED:
Message from Dudley Brown:
On Friday, the State Senate heard the anti-gun bills.
Thanks to your efforts and the efforts of a handful of pro-gun allies in the Senate (most of them RMGO PAC endorsed), we managed to raise enough opposition to defeat two of these bills.
One of the remaining draconian bills which we believe stands the best chance of defeat is HB 1224. This bill will ban ALL standard magazines with capacities of
15 rounds or more.
Worse, because of the way the bill is written, it may even ban smaller magazines, and the rifles and pistols that can accept them, too.
Colorado Democrats are taking a page out of Nancy Pelosi’s playbook, insisting we’ll just have to pass it before we know what’s in it, and earlier today HB-1224
passed the State Senate by ONE vote on third reading by a count of 18-17.
Fortunately, HB 1224 was amended while in the Senate, and now has to go BACK to the House for another vote.
This has given us an opportunity to keep fighting to stop this bill.
What you need to do now is apply massive pressure to House members to defeat this bill.
Call and write these representatives today and tell them you want them to vote NO on HB 1224:
Rep. Pete Lee –HD18- (303) 866-2932
Email – Facebook- Twitter
- Rep. Mike McLachlan –HD59- (303) 866-2914
Email – Facebook- Twitter
- Rep. Diane Mitsch Bush –HD26- (303) 866-2923
Email – Facebook
- Rep. Dominick Moreno –HD32- (303) 866-2964
Email – Facebook- Twitter
- Rep. Brittany Pettersen –HD28- (303) 866-2939
Email – Facebook- Twitter
- Rep. Max Tyler –HD23- (303) 866-2918

- Rep. Joe Salazar –HD31- (303) 866-2951

If we can apply more pressure to these members, we can still defeat this bill.
Now for some good news - the Senate has effectively defeated HB 1226 and - SB 196!
HB-1226 would have banned armed self-defense on college campuses. Knowing they could not pass the bill, the anti-gun Democrat leadership withdrew it from the floor entirely.
SB-196 the de facto Assault Weapons ban, was absolutely heinous. If this bill had passed, and your rifle was stolen from your home, you and the manufacturer would have been held legally liable for anything the criminal did with it. Again, the majority leadership withdrew this draconian bill from the floor entirely.
The Democrat leadership didn’t want their members to have to go on record one way or the other because they were afraid to further anger the voters.
Unfortunately, with these victories, also came some defeats.
SB 195 eliminates online training for concealed carry permits. This passed and is headed to the House as well. RMGO opposes this bill because it further limits your ability to exercise your rights.
HB 1229 will ban private gun sales and transfers. This unfortunately passed the Senate as well. Because it was amended, it will also go back to the House for final approval.
HB 1229 is a transparent attempt to catalog who owns what firearms, preparing them for inevitable confiscation.
Contact the representatives above and tell them to also vote NO on HB 1229.
Tell them the government has no right to interfere with the ability of
law-abiding citizens to buy/sell/trade firearms. HB 1228 also passed the
Senate and will be going to the governor. This bill will create and impose a
new tax on gun purchases. This tax forces you, the law-abiding citizen, to pay
for permission to exercise your rights. (Note from COS CV: In Violation of the CO Taxpayers' Bill of Rights).
Contact Governor Hickenlooper immediately and tell him to veto ALL gun-grabbing bills that make it to his desk. - Phone: 303-866-2471 Email: john.hickenlooper@state.co.us
When the East Coast liberals flew in their anti-gun agenda, we knew this was going to be a difficult fight.
They have imported gun-grabbers from across the country to try to give the appearance that there is support for these bills.
Now they have moved their agenda nearly into law.
But we are not done fighting yet.
Please commit to keep up the pressure. Call and write these representatives - and Governor Hickenlooper TODAY and tell them to OPPOSE ALL of these anti-gun bills!
And standby for our gameplan to repeal anything that makes it into law.
For Freedom,
Dudley Brown, Executive Director, RMGO
P.S. We have suffered some defeats, but we are not done fighting yet.
