Welcome to the Colorado Springs Conservative Voice. This site is designed to provide Conservatives a means to locate Conservative Liberty Groups and Tea Parties in the Colorado Springs area, to identify upcoming events and to investigate issues from a conservative perspective that effect Colorado Springs, Colorado and the Nation.
The Tea Party is a state of mind...small Government, less taxation, less spending., support of the Constitution, etc. Colorado Springs has numbers of organizations that support the Tea Party ideal as well as other conservative principles.
There are organizations supporting conservatism in general, as well as specific organizations that support principled causes, i.e., support for the 2nd Amendment, Pro-Life, etc. The attempt is made here to include as many organizations as possible that maintain conservative principles no matter what their areas of interest. Organizations will be added as they are identified so check back often.
The intent of this site is to enable Conservatives to find a niche so that they may become active in helping further the Conservative Cause locally, statewide and nationally. Please investigate these organizations, use the Calendar to identify their events, attend some of them, join the organizations of your choice and help us to fix what ails our city, state and the nation. Help us to send a conservative message to those who hold office so that we can achieve a redirection from socialism to freedom and liberty.
Don't sit on the sidelines asking what you can do. Become a Community Organizer, activist, and/or grassroots Patriot by joining one or more of these organizations! Be sure to check out the calendar to see what events are scheduled.

Honor Flight of Southern ColoradoThe organization is preparing to send 12 WWII veterans and four guardians on its first trip to Washington, D.C. The event will take place June 15-17. The trip will mirror a typical National honor flight and include a departure rally, an airport greeting by congressmen and visits to each memorial on the National Mall and Arlington National Cemetery. But it’s the trip’s little details that just might pack the most meaningful punch. A veterans’ motorcycle group will follow them up to Denver. The veterans will skip security and will receive letters written by children that they can read on the airplane.” The organization’s waiting list is 87 veterans long and it hopes to send several of them on another flight in September. They need some sponsors and volunteers who are willing to spend some of their time helping to organize and fundraise. As you may know after much prayer and counsel, I entered the race for the Colorado State House seat in District 39 (more rural parts of Douglas County and all of Teller County) only about 90 days before the district assembly. On April 13th after a great deal of hard work, I shocked the political establishment of Colorado by making the primary ballot despite some power players trying many things to keep me off.
Now there’s a tremendous opportunity not just for me, but for all of us freedom-loving folks, to win a seat in our state legislature if my campaign can draw enough financial support quickly to get my message to the primary voters. There is no incumbent due to reapportionment. My primary opponent lost to conservative Rep. Chris Holbert (R-HD44) in 2010 and is now supported by special interest groups, lobbyists, and political insiders. Those who buy influence through campaign contributions know they can’t control me. As you know, I will stand and vote on conservative principles, not for political purposes or personal gain. A copy of my first mailer to primary voters is attached. This year, State House 39 is a heavily Republican district; whoever wins the primary, wins the seat. And, the current political environment is very favorable to genuine limited-government conservatives like me. The voting public has had enough of insiders as well as their big spending in Washington and here in Denver. Coloradans care about their jobs, their families, making ends meet, and how much debt their children will owe. From my over 3 years of 9/12 Project volunteer work, you can trust that I will be a strong principled and independent voice in our state legislature - someone who will confront the liberals and progressives at the Capitol about their policies that are hurting our state. I’m not called Grizzly Granny Lu for nothing! But if we can’t raise the funds we need to get my campaign into high gear quickly, we will not have the vital resources needed to win this primary and the seat for all of us. DENVER - A little-known program administered by the Department of Treasury under President Barack Obama's Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act steered federal payments to a trendy breakfast haunt in downtown Denver frequented by lawmakers and lobbyists, the Colorado branches of 3 Fortune 500 companies, and a west slope liquor store that now has the curious distinction of being the "largest solar powered liquor store in Colorado."
The payments are part of the nearly $1 trillion stimulus package approved in 2009 that the Obama Administration said would keep unemployment nationally below 8 percent. Now, for the first time, The Colorado Observer is providing a snap shot of the types of businesses that benefited from an obscure stimulus program.
An exhaustive analysis of federal reports shows a taxpayer funded windfall to install solar equipment - including equipment manufactured by the bankrupt California solar manufacturer Solyndra.

City to begin concentrated effort to repair potholes. The Street Division will kick off its annual pothole campaign on Monday, March 19. The pothole campaign is marked by an intensive push to repair reported potholes within two weeks. Additional crews will be allocated to meet that deadline. Potholes are prioritized by location, so potholes on main arterials receive a higher priority. However, to repair potholes, the City needs help finding them! We are asking drivers who spot potholes to call the Pothole Hotline – 385-ROAD (7623) – to report them. When reporting a pothole, callers should provide detailed information such as street name, direction of traffic flow (north bound, south bound, etc.), the intersection, closest address (if known), side of the street, and location in the street such as left or right edge line or middle, inside or outside lane. Due to the huge influx of calls expected, citizens should not expect a personal reply to their request. Citizens with iPhones can download an app to report potholes from www.springsgov.com (click on the phone icon at the top of the page). The City of Colorado Springs Streets Division maintains approximately 1,500 center line miles of streets. A center line mile is the length of one mile of road regardless of the number of lanes. Streets crews filled 24,208 potholes in 2011. While the dry winter reduced the amount of potholes created by freeze-thaw cycles, the aging of the street system has kept the number of potholes comparable to previous years. The City does not repair potholes on County or State roads, such as South Academy south of Milton Proby (County) and Powers (State) and US 24 (State).

Six months ago, Dwan Rager and Char Smith were given the task of examining our 912 Values and Principles to see how they apply in today's changing world. Their continuing work looks at the truth of what motivated our Founders in the creation of America and carries us through history to today. What they found is the truth, but a truth purposely distorted and hidden from the public through 100 years of a Progressive agenda with the goal of fundamentally transforming America. To fundamentally transform means to destroy what is in place and replace it, in this case, with a false dream of a radical socialist utopia. A world where our God given inalienable rights are stripped away leaving us only as servants to the state.
